Little Hiccups

Little Hiccups is a support network for families who have children with a disability or additional need and their family. We offer the following services:

Outreach Programme: Not all Parents/Carers feel comfortable in group situations. Having a disabled child can be a real roller coaster of emotions and finding the strength to take that first step towards accepting the reality can be very daunting.  For those Parents/Carers who don’t yet feel ready, we are happy to meet them for a relaxed and friendly chat over coffee because sometimes making that first contact can be a big step forward!

Stay n Play: A relaxed Stay n Play to suit all abilities. The sessions are held at The Vinery Centre, Mencap Leeds. We offer a safe environment with a soft play and sensory room along with sensory toys suitable for all needs. It is a relaxing atmosphere where the child will be allowed to play and discover the world at their own pace.

Family Fun Days: Something for all the family. Siblings and other immediate family are also welcome. Every month we host a Family Fun Day where we organize an event at reduced cost so that it is everyone can attend. These can range from private cinema viewings to Indoor Skydiving, wall climbing, skiing – all made accessible. We believe in no limits!

All Terrain Buggies – (currently being trialed with Hiccups families only). Offered free of charge (although a deposit will be required) these will be available to book and borrow for family holidays, weekends and day trips. Between the three wheelchairs we’ll have a size, the adaptations and all weather accessories to meet each child’s needs. They have bike adaptions and can be used on beach, etc.

Hydro sessions: Little Hiccups are also running Hydro sessions at Armley Sports Center (with a view to add more due to their success). Bookings are in spread over 7 weeks.
