The Jigsaw Tree

The Jigsaw Tree is a community group based in East Leeds, supporting families of children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (both pre- & post diagnosis). We offer advice/strategies, support and friendship as well as helping our parents to complete DLA/PIP forms or advice on the EHCP process. We hold monthly daytime parent/carer support group meetings and evening support sessions at the Megaplay Leeds soft play area, as well as organising school holiday events for all our families and learning forums for the parents/carers. The Jigsaw Tree has a small library of books about autism and also has a weighted blanket that members can borrow to ‘try before they buy’ one of their own. We have also provided autism awareness training or advice for local groups/businesses in order to raise awareness and increase acceptance within our own community. We have a website (www.thejigsawtree.org) with an events page and links to useful and/or local charities, we also operate active social media accounts. Our ‘secret’ facebook page is the busiest of these – our families keep in touch between meetings and reach out to us and each other to ask for or offer support.
